Doula Duties
Being a doula is not something new, or extremely fancy. Our ancestors have always been doulas: grandmothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts. It is about creating a safe, supportive, healing space for the Mother during pregnancy and after.
There should not be the expectation of Mother doing everything by or for themselves. Motherhood is challenging and it is important to get back to our roots. Creating a system of support is a vital aspect of healing the black mind, body, and spirit.
