An Organic Guide for the Woman in Every Season
Pregnancy · Period · Postpartum
Why Organic Matters
What touches your body during these seasons is not a neutral thing. Synthetic fabrics, hormone-disrupting dyes, and chemical finishes accumulate across a lifetime of wear. Organic is not a trend. It is a return to what the body already knows.
Skin absorbs more readily as blood volume expands. Conventional fabrics are treated with formaldehyde-based finishes, chlorine bleach, and dyes containing heavy metals. Your baby touches everything you wear.
Synthetic fabrics worn closest to the body during menstruation disrupt the vaginal microbiome and expose already-sensitive tissue to dyes and plastics. Many women report reduced cramping and lighter flows when they transition to organic.
The postpartum body is a healing body. A woman in the 40 days deserves softness — fibers that breathe, hold warmth without synthetic heat, and honor the vulnerability of the season she is in.
"Anokeesed fashioned you from the dust of the earth and breathed life into what He made. What you wear, what you apply, what you reach for — these are not small things. They are acts of stewardship over something sacred."
What to Look For

- OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — tested for harmful substances even if not fully certified organic
- Natural fibers — linen, hemp, bamboo (mechanically processed), wool, silk
- Low-impact or plant-based dyes — look for transparency from the brand
- Small-batch, slow-fashion production — less waste, more intention
- Transparent supply chains — brands that show you where and how

Slow-fashion rooted in natural fibers and conscious creation. Many styles are loose enough to nurse in, long enough to layer over, and soft enough to sleep in.
indigoluna.storeMinimalist, considered, intentional. Soft organic cotton basics that transition from pregnancy through the fourth trimester. Elevated neutrals, easy silhouettes, and fabric that actually feels like rest.
hara.earthScandinavian-rooted, ethically made, and wearable. Elskbar's nursing and postpartum pieces are designed to feel beautiful when you do not feel beautiful — a gift. Clean lines, soft organic fabrics.

beachwoodthelabel.comA GOTS-certified, family-owned brand on a mission to make organic cotton and merino wool intimates that are gentle on skin and the planet. Their women's collection includes underwear, bras, bralettes, and socks — with dedicated maternity briefs, plant-dyed options using natural madder dye, undyed pure cotton styles, and biodegradable garments. High-waist cuts, soft stretch, and breathable natural fibers make these a thoughtful choice for pregnancy, the postpartum body, and the cycling woman alike.
qforquinn.comOne-of-a-kind, handstitched, upcycled slow fashion made by women artisans in India and Bangladesh. Each piece is made from reclaimed vintage fabrics — primarily saris — re-stitched by hand into free-size wearables. No two pieces are alike. Nothing synthetic. Everything made by a woman's hands, which for a postpartum woman means a lot.
kanthabae.comA 100% soft cotton postpartum belly binder rooted in the traditional practice of bengkung belly binding. The Amina wrap covers from just below the bust to the top of the hips, supporting abdominal and lumbar recovery, helping internal organs return to their pre-pregnancy position, and aiding in healing from diastasis recti. Worn at least 12 hours a day in the early postpartum weeks. It is also worth noting: a bengkung wrap offers real support during menstruation, providing uterine comfort and a sense of being held during heavy or crampy days.
unina.com.auA Regenerative Organic Certified, USDA Organic skincare line built on an oil and water ritual philosophy — pure plant-based formulations with no synthetic fragrance, waxes, emulsifiers, preservatives, or added water. Their products are designed to work with the skin's own biology rather than override it. Face oils, hydrosols, body oils, butters, clays, and balms made with ingredients sourced from land stewards around the world.
evanhealy.comSmall-batch, slow-crafted body care made in Colorado with grass-fed tallow, whole herbs, and seasonally inspired blends. etsy.com/shop/MarigoldMaternityAn Etsy apothecary making small-batch organic skincare rooted in tallow and botanical ingredients. Their Chamomile and Aloe Tallow is a standout — chamomile for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties, aloe for cooling and wound support, and tallow as the carrier that absorbs into the skin rather than sitting on top of it. Thoughtfully made for sensitive, healing, and everyday skin.
etsy.com/shop/ComfortSenseEarth-toned, consciously made pieces that hold the spirit of the postpartum season. Their items make meaningful gifts for a new mother.
etsy.com/shop/MotherEarthCompanyA wellness-first registry platform where mothers register for care and support — not things. See the dedicated section below for a full explanation.
littlehoneymoney.comLittle Honey Money
This is not a registry for onesies and bouncers. Little Honey Money exists because someone finally asked the right question: what does the mother actually need?
The premise is simple and long overdue. Happier, healthier babies begin with mothers who are genuinely supported. Little Honey Money is a wellness-first registry platform where expectant and postpartum mothers build a registry of care — services, support, and healing — and invite their community to fund it.
Think about what a baby shower typically produces: more baby clothes, more gadgets, more things that fill a closet. Little Honey Money redirects that generosity toward what a woman's body actually needs after birth.
Register for the practitioners who will walk through birth and recovery with you.
Every postpartum body benefits. Register for sessions and let your community give you something real.
Nourishment in the 40 days is not optional. Register for meal support so eating is not one more thing to figure out.
For the spine, the pelvis, and the nervous system that carried and birthed a baby.
Access to an IBCLC is one of the most meaningful gifts a nursing mother can receive.
Massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, and overnight newborn care are all registerable here.
"It truly takes a village, and when we prepare for the postpartum period as much as the birth, we are supported and set up for success."
If you are building a registry, build one here first. If you are gifting a new mother, search her name on Little Honey Money before you reach for Amazon.

I want to be honest with you in the way I wish someone had been with me. This section is personal. These are the things on my shelves, in my cart, and in my postpartum plan — not recommendations made from a distance, but from a woman who is in it alongside you.
Not everything here is perfect or final. Some I have used for a long time. Some I am preparing for this new baby. All of it has been chosen with intention, which is the only way I know how to choose.
Clothing & Intimates
Meadow and Cleo bra, period and leakproof classic brief, womb and breast oil, Lena high waist undies. The intimates are the quietest, most functional pieces I have found for a cycling and postpartum body — organic cotton against tender skin, no synthetics.
hara.earthHeavy, light, and regular flow reusable pads, heavy flow period underwear, small or medium wetbag. Reusable period care is one of the most meaningful swaps you can make — for your body and for the earth. Elskbar makes it simple and beautiful.
elskbar.comAgni Cross Top, Agni Skirt, Agni Flares. The Agni set has been my most-reached-for pregnancy pieces — natural fiber, generous cut, and wears beautifully into postpartum. The kind of clothing that does not remind you of how your body has changed, just holds it.
indigoluna.storeAurora Maxi Dress in Peach. 100% cotton, long, soft, and made to move. A maxi dress that works for nursing, resting, and everything in between is one of the most useful things a postpartum woman can own.
maikaiclothing.comPostpartum Recovery & Body Support
I want to note something that is not often said: a bengkung wrap is also beneficial during menstruation — for uterine support, cramping, and the sense of being held during a heavy flow. This is one of those tools that belongs across seasons, not only postpartum.
unina.com.auThe postpartum basket — pads, disposable underwear, peri bottle, herbal sitz, and rice pillow. Everything a woman needs in the first hours and days, gathered with knowledge and care. A postpartum basket like this is one of the most practical gifts you can give or receive.
Calendula Nipple Cream — which I will tell you plainly is not just for nipples. It works beautifully on wounds, chapped lips, dry patches, and any skin that needs gentle, healing support. And the Organic Perineal Spray, which is a postpartum essential in my home.
etsy.com/shop/MarigoldMaternityReusable breast pads. Soft, natural, and washable — another quiet swap that adds up over a nursing relationship. No synthetic materials against healing breast tissue.
etsy.com/shop/MotherEarthCompanyApothecary & Skincare
Unscented Tallow Soap. When skin is postpartum-sensitive, nursing-tender, or simply asking for less, an unscented tallow soap is one of the most nourishing things you can reach for. Clean ingredients, no fragrance load, made with care in Colorado.
rosewornapothecary.comChamomile and Aloe Tallow. Chamomile for its calming, anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe for its cooling, wound-supportive nature. Tallow as the carrier that actually absorbs and feeds the skin. A simple combination that does a lot of quiet work.
etsy.com/shop/ComfortSenseBotanical A.Ok Body Oil and Roll-On Oil. Duo NYC is a lifestyle brand carrying clothing, accessories, and home and wellness goods — the body oils are in their wellness collection. Clean, botanical, and practical. The roll-on is especially useful postpartum when you want targeted application without fumbling with caps at 3am.
duonyc.comBlue Tansy Deodorant and Everything Spray. Blue tansy is one of the most beautiful anti-inflammatory botanicals — in a deodorant that actually works without aluminum or synthetic fragrance. The Everything Spray earns its name.
primallypure.comDisposable Pads & Period Care
Reusables are the goal, but disposables have their season — especially in the heavy early postpartum days or when life does not allow for laundry. These are the brands I trust when disposables are what is needed.
Nyssa covers two distinct lines: postpartum recovery and period comfort. On the postpartum side, their patented ice and heat therapy underwear and bralettes support vaginal and C-section recovery. On the period side, they make heat therapy underwear and leggings designed for cramp relief, as well as organic cotton pads for everyday period use — including a day-to-night organic cotton cover pads bundle. They also make the VieVision hands-free lighted mirror for postpartum checks and pelvic floor therapy. Built with input from pelvic floor therapists, OBs, doulas, and midwives.
nyssacare.comPlant-based, certified compostable, free from chlorine, fragrance, and plastics. A genuinely cleaner disposable option when you need one.
Organic cotton core, fragrance-free, and available in a wide range of absorbencies. A reliable option rooted in cleaner materials than conventional period care.
Organic period care covering pads, tampons, liners, menstrual cups and discs, bladder care, and cycle support. Every purchase provides period products and body literacy resources to those who would otherwise go without — that giving model matters. A solid, reliable option when you want organic and accessible.

Shopping with Intention on a Real Budget
Organic and ethical clothing tends to cost more at the point of purchase. But it lasts longer, holds its softness, and does not leach chemicals into your body. Here is how to build a conscious wardrobe without financial strain.
You do not need to replace everything at once. Start with what touches you most directly: underwear, the shirt you wear to bed, the wrap you will nurse in. These closest-to-skin pieces matter most.
Natural fiber garments often improve with washing and wearing. ThredUp, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, and local buy-sell-trade groups are excellent sources for organic brands at a fraction of retail. Search specifically for Hara the Label and Indigo Luna.
Little Honey Money is a wellness-first registry platform where you register for actual care — pelvic floor therapy, doula support, meal deliveries, chiropractic sessions, lactation support. Let your community gift you what your body genuinely needs, not more items for the nursery.
Pieces that move from pregnancy to postpartum to everyday life are worth more per wear than anything purchased for only one season. A well-made Indigo Luna dress or Hara set will serve you for years.
Small Etsy makers offer custom sizing, gentle fabrics, and pricing that reflects the actual cost of handmade goods. When you buy from Following Daisy Fields or Marigold Maternity, you are investing in a woman's livelihood.
